Falls Prevention Awareness Week occurs the first week of Fall each year, and is recognized by the state of California. Falls Prevention Awareness Day takes place on September 22nd each year and is recognized nationally in the United States.
It is important to help bring awareness to the fact that falls are preventable, and with falls being a leading cause of injury deaths, unintentional injuries and hospital admissions for trauma among older adults, these national awareness campaigns become that much more key.
To any common man or woman, one could ask, “what can you do to help?” Well, turns out there are many ways, as quite a few people are concerned about this issue.
